Description
TeraBiome is a fermented sophorolipid surfactant and solubilizer created through the fermentation of vegetable oil with Candida bombicola yeast. It functions as a dual-action extra-cellular lipid that acts as both a prebiotic and postbiotic to balance beneficial skin flora and support a healthy skin barrier. It offers very high detergency—cleansing oils and makeup at low use-levels—while remaining ultra-gentle and non-stripping, significantly reducing the inflammatory cytokine production of skin cells compared to traditional synthetic surfactants. Additionally, upon the loss of water (drying), the TeraBiome molecules transition from an ionic form (which removes excess oil) to a non-ionic lactone form, depositing a uniform hydrophobic barrier that improves skin smoothness, hair shine, and frizz control.
